With summer approaching fast, if you haven’t started working on your beach body yet, it is high time you do so.
During the colder period, people seem to put their workout offerors on the back burner and just enjoy the season of holidays and good food.
However, once the food drowsiness passes and the jingle bells die down, we are usually left with a layer of fat that wasn’t there merely six months ago.
And while some seem to fully embrace their dad body, others are looking for ways to get rid of them fast.
So, let’s see how you can turn your dad bod into a lean muscle and prepare for the season ahead.
To address the obvious elephant in the room right off the bat, you can’t expect to get rid of your dad bod if you are being a couch potato.
So, instead of just sitting and trying to will your body back in shape, you will actually need to get up and get your body moving. What you choose to do and how you decide to approach this is entirely up to you.
But make sure you do have some workout gear essentials to support you in your efforts. Get yourself some comfortable workout clothes and a few pairs of quality compression socks.
Some people claim that getting the right workout clothes motivated them even further to exercise.
Be Smart With Food
Next, you will need to start paying more attention to what you eat. Your dad bod is proof that you have probably spent a bit too much time indulging. Now, it’s time to snap out of it.
First, make sure you are not skipping breakfast, as this is the most important meal of the day. Ideally, you should go for eggs and greens in the morning.
You can even add some bacon and sausage to your plate. Contrary to popular belief, this is a much healthier breakfast option than fruit and oatmeal.
Also, try to have at least 4 meals during your day. By doing so, you will ensure that your blood sugar levels are well-balanced throughout the day, which is very important if you truly care about your health.
Track Your Progress
Furthermore, in order to be able to start seeing results, you need to know where you started.
So, make sure you weigh yourself and note down all of your measures before you actually start working out.
Additionally, you can even visit your doctor and have them run a blood test to see just how out of shape you are.
Once you have all the numbers, you should repeat the measurements after a month of working out. Don’t track your weight loss each day, as you won’t be able to notice a real difference in that time-frame.
Finally, be smart with your exercising efforts. What this means is that you absolutely don’t need to subject yourself to a strenuous workout regimen if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.
Instead, you can simply increase your usual daily physical activity and have it work in your favor. For instance, when going for a walk, try walking a bit faster than usual.
If you are taking your dog out, try light jogging instead of walking. Avoid using your car for short trips – instead, cycle to your destination.
If you absolutely dread the idea of spending time in the gym, get yourself some weights and dumbbells and exercise at home.
No matter what you choose to do, the important thing is to do something. Simply wishing that your pounds will shed off won’t be enough for them to actually do so.
So, get up, get going and bid your dad bod adieu!
